I have stacks of priority mail boxes with posters waiting to be framed. (I have not found an on line supplier of poster framing, does anyone know of a site?) There was that tense moment last summer with items arriving at a furious pace where the wife told me to lay off ebay, to which I informed her I had clear spending limits, no more than $10 on any one item unless it was depression glass, but that is a whole other story.
At the peak of my ebay purchasing last summer, I was making regular trips to the post office to buy stamps and money orders. Sometimes this cramped my bidding habit. I'd get behind in getting my money orders, or wait an extra day or two to see if I was the high bidder on another item. Then, last December, a whole new way of paying for my ebay item became available on the web. Paypal.com dispenses with the need for the pesky trips to the post office or 7-11 for stamps and money orders. At Paypal.com, you create an account, put money into it using your credit card, designate someone to pick up the money, and then email the person you need to send money to! Could life be any more fabulous? No more standing in line, no more finding envelope, looking for stamps, or trying to remember to get those letters in the mail. Now you just sit at your computer and wait for the packages to arrive. Go check it out: www.paypal.com. There was a signing bonus when I hopped on; ten bucks in my pocket just to get started. Click there quickly! While we are speaking of revolutionary banking opportunities on the web, check out www.paymybills.com. These folks will receive all of you bills and send you a little email notification when then have arrived. You then turn around and tell them to pay your bills. They debit your checking account (or any other account you set up) and send off the payment. The neat thing is at the end of the year, all of your bills are easy to access in electronic format for tax purposes. So reduce those pesky bills at your house (and just open the ebay packages ;-) and pay your bills online. That's Word to the Wired for this week. Until we meet again, technodykes, click on. Julie
