TD: What GLBT and women's issues would you most like to see the next administration address?
KC:I think one of the critical issues that is being chipped away at is women's choice, and I think that GLBT people are profoundly pro-choice at our best moments. And although it might not seem to be a gay issue, the issue of women's choice is very important. I'm not in favor of outing people because I'm pro-choice, and I believe each person has the responsibility to follow what's right for them. We are also in a profoundly moneyed culture, and so issues of poverty are also very important to women.
TD: Who out of the candidates' wives would make the best First Lady?
KC:Tipper Gore. People still get very upset with her take on rock music, with the lyrics. If you actually hear her talk about that, though, you'll realize it got blown out of proportion. She's been around. Al Gore has been in government and on the national and international scene, and she has as well. I admire her. She seems very real. And she knows what she's getting into. And I think her daughter's fab.
