SPECIAL PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE AWARDS Jorge Manzano, director of JOHNNY GREYEYES, received the Special Programming Committee Freedom Award. This award was presented by Sundance Channel. Mary Guzman, director of Desi's Looking for a New Girl and Patrik Ian Polk, director of Punks tied for the Special Programming Committee Award for OUTstanding Emerging Talent. This award was presented by Paris Barclay. Franco-Giacomo Carbone, production designer for PSYCHO BEACH PARTY, received the Special Programming Committee Award for OUTstanding Artistic Achievement. This award was presented by Audio Rents. OUTFEST 2000 ends on Monday, July 17 with the closing night screening and Los Angeles premiere of Sony Picture Classics' THE BROKEN HEARTS CLUB – A Romantic Comedy, written and directed by Greg Berlanti, starring Tim Olyphant, Dean Cain, Andrew Keegan and John Mahoney. The closing night gala will be held at the historic, newly restored Egyptian Theatre.
