The Gay Borg III: The Collective Process

"Bringing it on the screen now." "Can you make out the ship's registry?" "I believe so Captain. It looks like T-R-N-S-G-N-D-R." I now had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. "Miss Echo, can you monitor the communications between the vessel and the planet?" "I believe so ma'am. Patching it in now. It keeps rebuffering though. They must be using a dial-up modem. I'll make the necessary adjustments." Through the static I heard, "...us in. We're womyn too, you know. Let us in..." "I take it that's the vessel broadcasting that Miss Echo." "Yes ma'am, it is." "Any reply from the planet?" "It's coming in now." "...repeat. We are the Lesbian Separatists Borg. This is a womyn-born-womyn's space only. We find you unworthy of our time and attention. You will not be granted admittance until we have processed this matter through the collective for consensus. Come back in say, twenty years..." "Mute the transmission Miss Echo." Damn, it was worse than I thought. Pressing the mute button, Echo said, "Captain, is this a new Gay Borg species? A mutation perhaps?" "Perhaps, Miss Echo, perhaps. For the moment, I think the womyn on board that vessel would have a better chance of getting a date with Pat Buchanan's sister than being admitted to Festival." "Who's Pat Buchanan?" She asked perplexed. "Nobody important. At least nobody takes him too seriously anyway." "Oh." "Miss Echo, contact the crew of the TRNSGNDR and tell them they are invited aboard the TechnoDyke for one helluva party." "Aye-aye ma'am. May I say Captain, I am proud of your stance." "Thank you Miss Echo. If you would, go to the music archive and select some appropriate party music. Also, connect me with my cabin." "Yes ma'am." "Hi honey, this is Amy. Is the mission complete? Are you coming back to the cabin?" "Not quite sweetie. Could you get dressed and meet me in the reception area. Guess who's coming to dinner?" The End or The Beginning? Previous | END
