The Question
A Rock and a Hard Place Im 21 years old and bi, it took me a long time to realize who i was and be comfortable an open about it but now that i am, im questioning things. When im with a man sexually i never have felt the emotional satisfaction that i was looking for even though i enjoyed the sex. Now when im with a woman i get all of the emotional feelings i was looking for, but i dont enjoy the sex as much. The thing is i would rather be with a woman who makes my emotions run wild, then a guy who is just good in bed. This isnt a question of my sexuality because i know that im attracted to both. This problem has totally lowered my sex drive, an im only 21!! I was just wondering why sex cant feel good and give me emotional satisfaction all from one person. Also ive never been able to have an orgasm, could that have something to do with it? The Answer
Heather Says: The truth of the matter is you may be looking at everyone but the person you really need to look to: yourself. Sexual satisfaction isn't as simple as finding the 'right" person to be with, regardless of gender and/or orientation. It's about a lot of things, indulging knowing what physically and emotionally satisfies you, sexually and nonsexually, it's about knowing your own needs, desires and limitations, and it's about knowing that there IS one person with whom sex can always feel good and with whom you can find emotional satisfaction: you. Sex really is what we make it. It's why we can have the best partner in the world, who is really a great fit for us, but still find ourselves dissatisfied or unhappy on a sexual level. Good sex doesn't start with someone else, it starts at home with us.
